He will now miss four matches through suspension – two for this sending off plus an additional two for his previous indiscretions – meaning the 22-year-old will not be available for more than half Rangers’ seven remaining league matches this season. And Steven Gerrard, the Rangers manager, confirmed Morelos has been fined by the club – a punishment the striker has accepted.“He has shown remorse and accepted the punishment I have given him,” Gerrard said. “We spoke to his representation as well and everyone is on the same page.“Now it is just a decision for the club to decide where the fine goes to but Alfredo has accepted, shown remorse and apologised.”Morelos posted an apology on Twitter on Monday afternoon, saying sorry to ‘the fans, my team-mates and the coaching staff’. Gerrard praised the forward for his decision to speak out over his actions.“I think he made that public himself which is the right thing to do and we draw a line under it,” the former Liverpool captain added.“Moving forward we hope Alfredo learns the hard way and we wait now for him to return to help us in the final push.”Andy Halliday, who was playing at left-back, also saw red during Sunday’s Old Firm derby, with the 27-year-old shown a second booking after the final whistle.
