He has not played a Premier League game this year due to a knee injury, which has seen him make just 20 appearances since signing for City in a 52million deal from Monaco in 2017.Despite returning to training in recent weeks, Mendy failed to make the matchday squad for Citys 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.Oleksandr Zinchenko and Aymeric Laporte have deputised at left-back in the 24-year-olds absence this season.2
